I believe that when people get a concussion it would be a difficult thing to recover from. I think it could also do some permanent brain damage and to me that wouldn't be worth it. To make sure it wouldn't effect your for life forever the coaches and the people on your team should make sure that you won't go back on the field for the rest of the season, depending on which part of the season you got the concussion. For instance if you get it at the end of then season you shouldn't be able to play the beginning of the next season either.
Some things to prove that concussions would really effect your life. For example, studies have shown that football players who have suffered three or more concussions have a tripled risk of depression. So every time you receive a concussion you will just become more and more depressed. Also 31% of athletes with concussions are rushed back onto the field after the injury. That just means that they are back on that field to soon to even recover. Unfortunate things that can come with injury are several professional football players have committed suicide. Autopsy results revealed brain damage also.
“You are supposed to be tough. You are supposed to play through pain. You are not supposed to cry. We are taught that early on in the game as kids. Tough sport. Brutal sport. It’s like the gladiator. People want to see the big hits. They wind up on Sports Center. And as a player, you don’t want to admit you are injured.” -Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson.
