Hops the Easter Bunny

One normal Easter morning Abby woke up with favorite stuffed animal in the whole world, it was Hops her bunny. Hops was her Easter present the year before. He went everywhere with Abby, everywhere.
The two of them ran down the stairs, past the kitchen, and right into the living room where she found her parents and that big Easter basket that held all of her candy from the Easter Bunny that she got every year. She ran up to her parents and gave them the best hug a six year old girl can give.
"Good morning Mommy and Daddy! Happy Easter!” Abby sang.
"Well good morning to you to Abby-Monster.” Abby’s dad said while he gave her a big hug.
“Can I go hunt for my Easter eggs now?” asked Abby.
“Of course you can.” answered her mom.
Abby ran all over the whole house checking every nook and cranny for every Easter egg in the house dragging Hops behind her. Abby found all the Easter eggs but one.
“What do you think? Where do you think the last egg is going to be hidden?” Abby asked Hops. She often talked to her stuffed animals, but only her favorites and since Hops was her favorite, he got talked to the most. Of course he never responded but Abby always imagined he did. Actually that’s all she ever wish for, Hops would talk back to her.
“You’re right I best it is beside the refrigerator!” Abby said as though Hops had told her to look beside the refrigerator. That was the only place she hadn’t looked yet and there it was a bright neon green Easter egg that held one whole dollar that was all hers.
The rest of the day Abby, her mom, her dad, and Hops had a humongous breakfast then went to Abby’s favorite place in the whole world, the park. While Abby swung on the on the swings and rode on the Merry-Go-Round her parents read books.
When Abby was at the top of the slide she saw something magical. She saw Hops walking around at the bottom of the slide waiting for her to come down! Abby quickly rushed to the bottom, but she almost tripped when was rushing towards him. Luckily, Hops caught her before she could fall to the ground and get hurt.
"Hops you saved me!" shouted Abby when she was back on her feet again. "I can't believe it you're standing and walking, you caught me! Thank you!"
"Well, I'm happy I was here, you could have really gotten hurt Abby," Hops said with a little thanks in his voice.
"You can talk to!" exclaimed Abby.
"Yes, I can, but only for the day. This is you Easter present from the Easter Bunny. You can't tell anyone that I am alive, it's our little secret. "If you keep it a secret then I can come back next Easter and play with you then too," explained Hops.
For the rest of the day Abby and Hops played all day long running and hiding, chasing and galloping. They played until Easter was officially over and nobody knew what happened that day except for them two and for that Hops returned the next Easter and the next and had just as much fun as the first.
